On Monday, 24/11/2025, the Department of Geography at the College of Education, University of Zakho, held a scientific activity on the occasion of the International GIS Day.
With the attendance of Prof. Dr. Diyar Abdulkarim Saeed, President of the University of Zakho, and Prof. Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, Dean of the College of Education, in addition to members of the university council, a number of academics, and representatives from the universities of Duhok and Mosul, along with heads of scientific departments, lecturers, and students, the Geography Department organized this scientific event in celebration of GIS Day.




The event included several diverse presentations, the opening of a student project exhibition, and the hosting of a scientific panel featuring a number of specialized and expert lecturers in the field of GIS from the universities of Zakho, Mosul, and Duhok.
